Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 September 2026

This personal website uses Cookie Information to manage cookie choices and Piwik PRO to understand how the site is used. This page explains what information is processed, why, and how you can manage your choices.

01Who is responsible

Piotr Słonina is the operator of pslonina.com and the controller of personal data processed through this site. For questions about privacy or requests concerning your data, email hello@pslonina.com.

02Information processed

You do not need an account or a login to use this website. The following information may be processed when you visit or contact me:

  • Technical logs. The hosting provider, SEOHost, may record your IP address, browser information, requested pages and timestamps to deliver and protect the site.
  • Analytics data. Piwik PRO processes information about visits, such as pages viewed, referring websites, visit times, browser and device details, IP addresses and cookie identifiers. IP addresses are partially anonymized before they are stored in the analytics database. The scope depends on your consent and the analytics privacy settings.
  • Consent records. Cookie Information stores your cookie choices and information needed to record and apply them.
  • Correspondence. If you email me, I receive your address, your message and any details you choose to include so that I can respond.

03Cookie Information

Cookie Information provides the consent banner and the cookie declaration below. It lets you choose cookie categories and remembers those choices. Consent preferences are also passed to Piwik PRO.

You can revisit your choices using the button below. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.

04Piwik PRO analytics

I use Piwik PRO Analytics and Tag Manager to understand which pages people visit and to identify technical issues. Reports help me improve the website. The configuration also records interactions with the consent banner.

The Piwik PRO service is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the EU West region. Analytics data is retained for 25 months, and IP addresses are partially anonymized before being stored in the database.

If you accept the statistics category, Piwik PRO can use longer-lived visitor identifiers to recognise visits over time.

Without statistics consent, limited analytics still runs. The current configuration uses Piwik PRO’s anonymized mode with a visitor cookie set to expire after 30 minutes. Rejecting optional categories therefore does not turn off all analytics or remove every cookie.

For an explanation of the available data fields, see Piwik PRO’s data documentation. The cookie declaration below lists the cookies reported for this website.

06Purposes & service providers

Information is used to operate and secure the website, understand its use, manage cookie choices and respond to messages. I do not sell personal data or share it for third-party advertising.

SEOHost, Cookie Information and Piwik PRO provide hosting, consent management and analytics services. They process information needed to provide those services.

The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to download these files, which sends request information such as your IP address and browser details. If you follow an external link, such as LinkedIn, that service’s own privacy policy applies.

07Keeping information

The declaration above gives the reported lifetime of each cookie. A cookie’s lifetime is separate from how long a service retains information already collected.

Piwik PRO analytics data is retained for 25 months. This period applies to the collected analytics data, independently of when individual cookies expire.

I keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any related follow-up. Technical logs and consent records are retained according to the relevant service settings and requirements for security and documenting consent.

08Your rights

Where the GDPR applies, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restriction of processing, or a portable copy of your data, subject to the applicable conditions. You may also object to processing where that right applies and withdraw consent for processing based on consent.

To make a request, email hello@pslonina.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, including Poland’s President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

09Policy updates

When the website or its use of data changes, I will update this page and the date above. An update to this policy does not itself change your cookie choices or constitute consent to new processing.
